Permits For Skip Hire In Cambridge
If you plan to have the skip on your own private property, then you will not need to apply for a permit. If you plan to have the skip on a public road while you load it, then you will need a permit from the highway authority.
Cambridge local council needs to approve a skip permit to ensure it’s safe and handled by legally registered waste carriers (which we are!). They will review the skip’s size, its placement, and how the waste will be disposed of.
The skip must be placed safely and not on yellow lines. It also needs to be clearly marked with cones or guarding to be visible.
Skip permits can take up to 5 working days to be approved, so please book your skip in advance.
The permit is valid for 14 days, so if your project will take longer, you’ll need to renew it. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through the entire process.
