Frequently Asked Questions
Is a permit needed if a skip is placed on public land?
Yes, if a skip is placed on public land, such as a roadside, it requires a permit from the local council. For an extra fee, we can organise the permit on your behalf.
Can you fit a mattress in this skip?
Although they easily have the capacity to fit a mattress, you are not allowed to put mattresses into a skip. This is due to health and safety guidelines, as their bulky nature makes it difficult for the recycling process. Also, there may be higher disposal costs associated with them. If you put a mattress in a skip, we can refuse to collect the waste as it’s a prohibited item.
What jobs is this sized skip suitable for?
This size is perfect for homeowners planning to refit their kitchen or bathroom, or those planning a large-scale clearout. It’s also suitable for light commercial clearouts. If you’re unsure whether a 4 tonne weight is big enough for your waste disposal project, get in touch with our team.
